Welcome!
I've had requests from quite a few people to start a blog after a series of posts during Down Syndrome Awareness Month on Facebook. I wasn't really sure where to start, so I jumped on a blog platform and discovered that I'd already started one when Emma was born... 6 months later I had clearly forgotten it and it's been neglected ever since.
The next few posts will be the ones I had published in those first 6 months, and then I'll upload all of my October 2017 awareness posts and then we'll see where this goes.
I'm pretty wary of posting on Emma's behalf - this blog may be about our life, but I'm conscious that her life is private until she gives permission otherwise. Therefore I'll be writing about my personal experiences and giving some insights into our life, but will try to avoid oversharing private things. After all, once she's old enough I'll be encouraging her to share as much or as little of her life as she wishes... it's completely up to her.
Sit back, relax, read some pretty old stuff and then we'll fast forward to now!!
Here's us many moons ago... my face has expanded along with my love for this precious girl, so for the moment you can have me in your mind as a sleep-deprived new mum.
